About the Role

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental management, sustainability, and project delivery. You will be responsible for providing technical expertise in managing environmental risks and opportunities, as well as leadership support to projects. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Championing the implementation of our business sustainability strategy and developing and monitoring project commitments
  • Ensuring compliance with our LOR Energy and Environmental Management System on the project
  • Providing technical advice and support to the project, client, and contractors to identify and implement effective environmental management procedures and opportunities to implement best practice
  • Supporting our project teams to embed our clients' and our own sustainability requirements within the project
  • Reviewing, advising, and delivering environmental training required for project staff and operatives
  • Engaging with the workforce around environmental issues
  • Effectively engaging with clients and internal/external stakeholders
  • Ensuring innovation and best practice are developed, implemented to address environmental issues and learning shared
  • Liaising with the appropriate statutory bodies on behalf of the project, obtaining relevant consents to facilitate the works and maintaining compliance with these
  • Monitoring environmental performance and undertaking inspections of the project on a regular basis
  • Promoting the reduction of energy use and carbon emissions
  • Coordinating the delivery of environmental deliverables on the projects
What We're Looking For

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced individual who can demonstrate a strong background in environmental management, sustainability, and project delivery. The ideal candidate will have:

  • A high level of personal drive and commitment, with effective goal setting ability
  • Capability of meeting deadlines and prioritizing activities
  • Able to take strategic views of the environmental requirements and agree and implement resultant plans
  • Positive approach to the challenges of change, helping others to become receptive and responsive to change
  • Technical familiarity with an extensive range of environmental processes and procedures
  • Logical and well-organized with the ability to prioritize
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all management levels and to build and maintain good working relationships
  • Understanding of the requirements of ISO14001 and ISO50001 and management of compliance with Management Systems
  • Experience in delivery of BREEAM or similar sustainability assessment schemes
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Lead Environmental Auditor Role
  • Membership of IEMA, IES, or IEEM (minimum of practitioner or equivalent desired)
  • Relevant undergraduate degree in Environmental management, sustainability, environmental sciences, or similar
  • BREEAM AP
