The Role:
You will provide leadership and support for a team of direct reports in the warehouse on a day-to-day basis, establishing yourself as a key player in the wider Operational Management team. You will be expected to plan, delegate, and monitor the workload across all warehouse functions within your area to meet the required operational service level across a range of customers in a safe and efficient manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of warehouse staff, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure they are equipped to perform their duties effectively.
- Plan and coordinate warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, and shipping goods, to ensure efficient and accurate processing.
- Monitor and control inventory levels, ensuring accurate stock counts and minimizing stock discrepancies.
- Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and productivity in the warehouse.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as transportation and customer service, to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe working environment for all employees.
- Manage and resolve conflicts or issues that may arise in the warehouse, maintaining a positive and productive work environment.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members, identifying areas for improvement and developing training plans to address gaps.
- Develop and implement training programs to ensure team members have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a warehouse or logistics environment.
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and other logistics software.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy and quality in all aspects of warehouse operations.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment, collaborating with colleagues to achieve common goals.
- Strong understanding of logistics and supply chain principles, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical setting.
