Become a valued member of our client's workforce as a Community Transport Operator. This temporary position is designed to cover a short-term absence, with the possibility of extension. Our client is looking for skilled drivers to provide safe and dependable transportation for individuals requiring essential support services.

As a Community Transport Operator, your role will be crucial in delivering comfort and assistance to individuals with varying needs.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Transport clients from their residences to support facilities and back.
  • Work alongside a Passenger Assistant to ensure clients board and disembark the vehicle safely.
  • Adjust routes as required to meet daily service demands.
  • Perform regular vehicle maintenance checks and report any issues to the fleet management.
  • Refuel the assigned vehicle daily.
  • Keep the vehicle clean and well-maintained, both inside and out.
  • Foster positive relationships with clients, their families, and caregivers, creating a supportive atmosphere.

Qualifications:
  • A full, clean driving license, including category D1 or equivalent, to operate a 16-seater minibus equipped with a wheelchair lift.
  • Previous experience in a driving capacity.
  • Enhanced DBS check for working with vulnerable individuals.
  • Physical capability to operate a tail lift and assist clients who use wheelchairs.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a passenger assistant.
  • Understanding of safeguarding protocols for vulnerable individuals.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and adaptability to changes in routes or schedules.
  • Digital skills to manage necessary documentation.
  • Punctuality, dependability, and a professional appearance.
  • A commitment to ensuring a secure and safe environment for clients.
  • References covering the last two years of employment.
