Spire Wellesley in Southend is seeking an experienced Staff Nurse to join their bank team in the Pre-Assessment Department. We provide excellent training opportunities to enable you to develop your skills and progress in your career.

About the Role

This is a key patient safety role within Spire, where you will work as part of the Pre-operative assessment (POA) service ensuring safe and effective pre-operative care. Reporting to the POA lead Nurse, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe assessment of patients over the telephone. You will work autonomously but also as a team player, recognising complex health issues and medications that may lead to complications of surgery. You will escalate concerns to anaesthetists and surgeons.

Responsibilities
  • Current NMC registration with no restrictions
  • Experience of working with minimum supervision
  • Good team player
  • Surgical Experience is ideal but not essential
  • Excellent communication as assessments are completed on the telephone
