Job Opportunity: College Tutor for Functional Skills

Medsolve is partnering with an esteemed organization to find a dedicated College Tutor for Functional Skills/Maths to deliver a high-quality, autism-specific educational experience. This role is designed to enable students to maximize their potential for future life wellbeing and work.

This is a permanent position, working term-time only, 32.5 hours per week. We offer a competitive salary of £25-£35 per hour. Please note that we do not offer sponsorship.

Job Responsibilities

The College Tutor for Functional Skills/Maths will be responsible for:

Participating in and contributing to the coordination of all aspects of the smooth daily running of the college.

Ensuring that the curriculum delivery and content are differentiated, autism-specific, and address the individual needs of learners.

Developing an effective working knowledge of the Individual Learning Plan and ensuring it is used to inform planning of sessions.

Monitoring and developing the curriculum through regular assessment and evaluation of students' learning, e.g., initial, formative, and summative assessment.

Ensuring that Literacy, Numeracy, and ICT are effectively embedded throughout the curriculum area where appropriate.

Creating, sharing, and monitoring appropriate learner targets in line with the Plan and learners' needs.

Providing subject reports detailing student progress and achievements for both internal reviews and external bodies, e.g., Local Authorities.

Writing reports for and attending student reviews.

Delivering planned, coordinated, and high-quality Numeracy sessions from pre-entry to Level 2.

Participating in the recruitment and assessment of students.

Assisting with arrangements for the placement and assessment of students at work placement locations if required.

Liaising with partner schools, FE colleges, employers, and outside agencies/organizations.

Taking part in marketing activities as required, e.g., Open Evenings.
