About the Role

Mintel is seeking a skilled Trends Analyst to join our team, responsible for researching and analyzing market innovations in the Americas consumer marketplace.

Key Responsibilities
  • Market Research and Analysis: Conduct in-depth research on market innovations, trends, and consumer behavior in North and South America, using a range of sources including news articles, trade publications, and academic journals.
  • Case Study Development: Write thought-provoking case studies that highlight the implications of brand actions, using Mintel data and business understanding to identify emerging trends and opportunities.
  • Content Management: Utilize AI tools, translation software, and content management systems to manage the production process from inception to publication.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Partner with global analysts and subject-matter experts to ensure content is compelling, useful, and applicable to a range of categories, demographics, and regions.
  • Cultural Nuances and Language Translation: Understand the cultural nuances of North and South America and use translation tools to read and interpret market news from Spanish, Portuguese, and English language outlets.
Requirements
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Possess extremely polished English-language verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly communicate ideas to readers in a straightforward way.
  • Research and Analysis Skills: Have some experience within trends, insights, planning, or marketing, with the ability to identify patterns in data and understand what these patterns mean for consumers and brands.
  • Writing and Storytelling Skills: Be able to observe brand and consumer activity from a wide range of categories to create compelling stories of how broader consumer trends are evolving.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork: Encourage and develop internal relationships, seeking out opportunities to collaborate with peers in your department and across the organization to elevate our clients' experience.
  • Attention to Detail: Have excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills, dedicated to quality and ensuring accuracy and efficiency in your work.
  • Curiosity and Problem-Solving: Be naturally curious and great at navigating internal and external data, asking second and third-level questions to see the patterns behind data to craft expert analysis.
  • Self-Motivation and Initiative: Take initiative to solve problems and uncover opportunities, with a self-sufficient work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Experience: Required to have 1-3 years of experience in marketing, communication, data analysis, and/or research with strong writing ability, and a working knowledge of business fundamentals to understand the implications of brand tactics.
