Job Opportunity: Counsellor Required

12 Month Fixed Term Contract

18 – 19 hours per week, to include working on a Monday

We are seeking a qualified Counsellor to join our Therapeutic and Wellbeing Service to support the patients and families of our organisation on a 12 month fixed term contract.

The role provides a counselling service for patients and families within the Psychology & Counselling team and includes assessing referrals, providing assessments, and delivering skilful and compassionate counselling in groups, individually, and supervising volunteers.

The successful candidate will hold a Counselling qualification (at least to degree level, ideally post graduate level 7); You will have experience of working in palliative care and bereavement counselling, ideally with clients across the lifespan.

You will be self-motivated with strong communication skills to help support the continued development of this evolving service and work across and within a multi-disciplinary team.

The role may include working within the local community; you should be confident working alone, hold a current driving license, and have access to a car.

We are a leading provider of specialist palliative care and offer 24 hour / seven days a week care to people who have advanced disease, caring for people in our Inpatient Unit which accommodates 15 patients and the local community. We have an expanding Therapeutic & Wellbeing service offering Psychological Wellbeing, Social Care, Physiotherapy, Occupational and Complementary Therapy.
