Job Summary:

Fit Out UK, a leading interior fit out contractor with nationwide coverage, is seeking an experienced Health and Safety Manager to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring a safe working environment for all employees and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret project contractual and statutory requirements and obligations through both the pre-construction and construction phases of projects.
  • Advise on overall compliance in matters of Health, Safety, and Wellbeing on site in accordance with Company policy, ISO standards, and relevant statutory provisions.
  • Maintain core areas of expertise and impart knowledge to aid the development, training, and mentoring of others.
  • Deliver Health & Safety induction programs for new employees or contractors working on site, as well as refresher training and advising the management team in respect to SHEQ.
  • Update and improve company Health and Safety, Environmental, and Quality policies and documentation.
  • Produce Construction Health and Safety Plans and associated supporting documentation.
  • Maintain records, registers, and data as required.
  • Assist Site Management in drafting and communicating Risk Assessment Method Statements (RAMS).
  • Support the investigation of accidents, incidents, and near-miss events to identify and share lessons learned.
  • Chair safety meetings with the workforce and supply chain.

Requirements:

  • Seasoned, highly experienced, and qualified Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental professional with extensive knowledge of managing health and safety within the warehouse and construction industry.
  • Proven record of achieving key results.
  • Deep technical knowledge of health and safety legislation and ability to keep up to date with legislative changes.
  • NEBOSH certified, a Member of IOSH, and hold a Relevant CSCS Card.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to deliver key safety messages.
  • Good problem-solving skills and strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel.
  • Self-motivated, flexible, and able to work under pressure accurately on an independent basis, always giving attention to detail.
