Singing for the Brain Support Volunteer

We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Singing for the Brain Support Volunteer. As a volunteer, you will play a vital role in providing support and companionship to people affected by dementia, enabling them to participate in our structured group sessions.
Key Responsibilities- Welcome and engage with people with dementia, helping them to feel at ease and included.
- Provide encouragement and support to participants during the singing session, promoting a sense of community and social interaction.
- Assist the session facilitator with the activities, either online or in person, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for all.
- Display empathy and understanding when interacting with people with dementia, creating a safe and supportive environment.
- Be able to navigate online platforms and use Zoom with confidence, if supporting virtual sessions.
- Ability to develop meaningful relationships and make a positive impact on people's lives.
- Enthusiasm and a willingness to learn and adapt to the needs of individuals with dementia.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to listen actively and respond with compassion.
- Flexibility and availability to commit to regular sessions, with a minimum of 2.5 hours per week.
