Construction Management Educator

As a Construction Management Educator at GBS Global Applied Knowledge, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of aspiring professionals in the field of construction project management. You will be tasked with creating detailed course materials, supervising student projects, and keeping current with industry developments to ensure a rich learning experience.

Flexibility is required, as teaching may occur during weekdays, evenings, and weekends.

Key Responsibilities

Core Duties Include:

  • Planning, delivering, and evaluating student assignments to ensure all educational objectives are achieved.
  • Developing, revising, and enhancing course content as necessary.
  • Implementing diverse teaching methodologies, including online learning formats.
  • Participating in collaborative meetings to contribute to strategic decisions and foster effective teamwork.
  • Engaging in professional development activities and peer evaluations.
  • Staying informed about student support services to provide comprehensive guidance.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience

  • A bachelor's degree in construction management, project management, or a related field; typically, a master's degree in a relevant discipline is required, along with a PhD or equivalent professional experience.
  • A Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice or a comparable teaching qualification (or a commitment to enroll in a teaching program during the probationary period and complete it within three years) or Fellowship of HEA (or an equivalent international qualification).
  • Prior experience teaching similar courses.
  • Experience in supervising student projects and providing constructive feedback.
  • Familiarity with teaching in the broader subject area.
  • Experience in distance education and supporting learners in both online and face-to-face environments.
  • Professional demeanor in all interactions with students and colleagues.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant subject matter.
  • A strong commitment to ongoing personal and professional development.
  • Attention to detail and accurate documentation.
  • Ability to maintain organized student records.
  • Capacity to work under pressure, effectively manage time, and meet deadlines.
  • Highly motivated and capable of working independently.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to engage with diverse groups of individuals.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Knowledge and experience in teaching construction management with a focus on building information modeling (BIM) and digital technologies relevant to the field at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience in conducting computer-aided design workshops.
  • Experience in designing or developing academic or professional education programs.
  • Full membership in CIOB or a similar professional organization.
