Purpose and Scope
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the maintenance and repair of equipment on site, adhering to the required standards and supporting the smooth operation of the site. As the role progresses, there may be opportunities to develop into a dual or multi-skilled position, depending on vacancies, training, competence, and experience.
Main Responsibilities and Tasks
- Raise and manage work permit requests, adhering to the permit, isolation procedure, and other related safe systems of work to complete tasks safely and efficiently.
- Contribute to and complete risk assessments associated with all maintenance duties, ensuring a safe working environment.
- Identify and rectify equipment failures and defects related to the specific trade and subsequent training and development.
- Perform scheduled maintenance as per the company's maintenance plan to support the running of the production site.
- Work to company standards and procedures to ensure maintenance tasks are executed to the required quality standard, minimizing impact on production and maximizing plant availability.
- Develop and review maintenance procedures to keep information accurate, complete, and relevant.
- Contribute to continuous improvement activities aimed at enhancing safety, environmental, equipment availability, and efficiency performance.
- Undertake any other duties that fall within the post holder's expected capability and commensurate with the post holder's position in the company.
Key Skills and Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and safety. They will also be able to work effectively in a team environment and contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and procedures.
