About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join our client, a well-established plastics manufacturer in Northern Ireland. As an Electrical Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of electrical systems and equipment, and contributing to the overall maintenance and upkeep of the facility.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Report to and adhere to instructions from Maintenance Manager and Senior Maintenance Technicians
  • Ensure a safe and clean working environment is maintained at all times
  • Operate the Health & Safety Policy to ensure compliance with statutory regulations
  • Complete tasks in accordance with relevant regulations, such as IEE, Electricity at Work Regulations, HASAW Regulations, and PUWER Regulations
  • Manage electrical repairs and breakdowns to minimize downtime and disruption
  • Fault find and implement continuous improvement site-wide, focusing on critical plant and addressing root causes of failures
  • Initiate and modify electrical designs, diagnose, repair, and test malfunctioning equipment
  • Install new electrical plant and machinery
  • Perform planned and preventative maintenance on plant and machinery
  • Utilize predictive maintenance techniques to support a LEAN manufacturing philosophy

Requirements:

  • Recognized apprenticeship as an electrical or mechatronic technician, ideally to HNC or equivalent level
  • Minimum of 3 years' post-apprenticeship experience in a manufacturing background
  • Experience in fault diagnosis in electrical systems and equipment
  • Experience with motor control systems, process temperature controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, and PLC/PC control systems
  • Ideal experience of equipment installation
