About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bags Designer to join our team at ASOS. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for creating a market-leading Bags range that meets the needs of our 20-something customer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research and develop new bag designs, including seasonal profiles and elevated pieces, to drive product quality and commercial success.
  • Work closely with suppliers, including Far East, India, and European suppliers, to source high-quality materials and execute product as required.
  • Provide trend direction and guidance to suppliers to ensure our bags are on-trend and meet customer expectations.
  • Collaborate with the Buying team to create fresh product ranges each season and shape the product direction for the department.
  • Work with the Technical team to identify and create new profiles for the department and produce a commercial range.
  • Manage and develop junior team members, providing clear direction and regular feedback.
  • Maintain a clear understanding of brand purpose and Fashion with Integrity, ensuring these principles are fully embedded within the team.

About You

  • Significant experience in designing bags within an aspirational brand or high street retailer.
  • Experience of working cross-functionally to deliver initiatives that have a positive commercial impact.
  • Proven ability to drive the success of a department or brand through strategic and commercial thinking.
  • Commercial handwriting and strong understanding of the ASOS brand and customer.
  • Experience with Photoshop, Adobe, CAD, and PLM.
  • Plugged into 20-something culture and fashion, passionate about the product.
  • Strong organisational skills, initiative, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to build great relationships with colleagues across the business and suppliers alike.
