Solihull College & University Centre is seeking an experienced professional to manage its Animal Centre. The successful candidate will have a degree in an animal-related subject and proven industry experience. They will be responsible for overseeing the centre's operations, teaching students, and contributing to the development of the curriculum. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, committed, and dynamic, with excellent communication and leadership skills. They will be required to attend the College's premises for the next stage of the process. The College is committed to ensuring a safe environment for all students and expects all staff to engage fully with this commitment. The Animal Centre Manager will play a pivotal role in the quality of practical teaching within the centre and will be involved in some teaching to have a good understanding of student experience. The successful candidate will be qualified to degree level and have proven experience of working in industry, with some teaching experience being an advantage. They will be responsible for managing the centre's resources, staff, and students, and will work closely with the College's teaching staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality education. The Animal Centre Manager will be an integral part of the College's Animal Welfare and Veterinary Nursing team and will contribute to the development of the programme. They will be required to maintain accurate records, manage budgets, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations. The successful candidate will be a team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. They will be required to attend meetings, participate in training and development activities, and contribute to the College's quality assurance processes. The Animal Centre Manager will be responsible for ensuring the centre's facilities and equipment are maintained to a high standard, and will work closely with the College's facilities team to ensure the centre is safe and accessible for students. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, and will be able to prioritize tasks and manage their time effectively. They will be required to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion. The Animal Centre Manager will be an ambassador for the College and will be expected to promote the College's values and mission. They will be required to attend College events and participate in promotional activities. The successful candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines. They will be required to be flexible and adaptable, and to be able to work effectively in a team. The Animal Centre Manager will be responsible for ensuring the centre's resources are used efficiently and effectively, and will work closely with the College's finance team to manage budgets and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
