Job Summary

The Instructional Designer I position is a key member of our team, responsible for providing faculty and staff support for educational technologies, creating high-quality instructional materials, and ensuring the accessibility and quality of course content.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support to faculty and staff, resolving issues related to educational technologies.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in educational technologies, providing guidance and training to faculty and staff.
  • Develop web-based training materials in various formats, including written, video, and graphical content.
  • Conduct quality assurance and accessibility reviews for web-based content, implementing fixes as needed.
  • Train faculty in the use of educational technologies, providing group workshops and individual consultations.
  • Assist faculty in creating and maintaining course content and multimedia.
  • Perform front-end systems administration tasks in the learning management system and other educational technology tools.
  • Maintain records of support and development transactions for invoicing and project management purposes.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in instructional design, experience design, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Professional experience providing customer support and/or systems administration.
  • Demonstrated experience creating high-quality instructional materials for real-world clients.
  • Experience working with learning management systems and web-based applications commonly used for education.
  • Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and modern web design practices.
  • Familiarity with principles of web accessibility.
  • Familiarity with foundational principles of learning and models of instructional design.
  • Skill with computer software, operating systems, web browsers, and office software.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in instructional design, experience design, or a related field.
