This role encompasses a wide array of engineering expertise, including mechanical, electrical, safety, and control, in partnership with mechanical, electrical, and project design and operational teams.

The systems you will work on range from miniature stepper-driven linear axes to intricate synchronized servo systems, pneumatically driven stages, and industrial robotics.

These systems demand high precision and repeatability, often in challenging environments such as vacuum, magnetic fields, or radiation, and frequently have access requirements that pose challenges for functional safety.

A degree (MEng, MSc, BEng) or equivalent in a highly relevant engineering discipline, or an HNC/HND with substantial additional project work experience (S&I)

  • Proven knowledge and experience in applying at least one of the following relevant engineering areas in machine/mechatronics designs (S&I):
  • Mechanical (i.e., design and specification of mechanical/motion components)
  • Electrical (i.e., panel design to BS EN ISO 60204)
  • Control (i.e., motion PLC programming to IEC 61131)
  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience working in multidisciplinary project teams - communicating, reviewing, and being reviewed, with a growth mindset for continuous improvement. (Demonstrable and extensive knowledge and experience in applying two or more relevant engineering areas detailed above (mechanical, electrical, safety, control) on mechatronics projects, with expertise in at least one area. (Experience in managing personnel, providing technical supervision, and mentoring junior engineers. (Training in our specific CAD/PLC packages will be provided (Solid Edge + Teamcenter, AutoCAD Electrical + Vault, TwinCAT 3, etc.)
