We are a well-established local accountancy firm with a strong network of clients across various industries, including transport, computing, retail, and property. Our company provides a range of services, including audit, accounts, tax, VAT, payroll, and bookkeeping.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounts Manager/Bookkeeper to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting a varied portfolio of clients across accounts, tax, VAT, payroll, and bookkeeping.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation and submission of statutory accounts under FRS102 and FRS105.
  • Preparation of self-assessment returns.
  • Bookkeeping and submissions for VAT clients.
  • Bookkeeping for client accounts up to trial balance.
  • Knowledge of Xero and QuickBooks.
  • Assisting with payroll processing.
  • Preparation of tax computations and assisting senior staff members with HMRC queries on behalf of clients.
  • Working directly with clients, building strong rapport and problem-solving.
  • Leading record management, ensuring we have all relevant and accurate information.
  • Able to communicate with offshore accounting staff members.
  • Working closely with senior team members to ensure expectations and deadlines are met.

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Experience in bookkeeping, VAT, and payroll.
  • Proficient in Xero and QuickBooks.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
