Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team at Avon & Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients with mental health needs, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver evidence-based practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessment and Care Planning: Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' mental health needs, develop and implement individualized care plans, and evaluate the effectiveness of care provided.
- Clinical Practice: Provide high-quality nursing care to patients, including medication management, risk assessment, and development of risk management strategies.
- Teaching and Education: Use own skills and knowledge to provide mentoring opportunities for staff, promote positive attitudes towards mental health, and support the provision of an appropriate learning environment for pre- and post-registered students.
- Continuing Professional Development: Maintain and develop professional knowledge, skills, and expertise to ensure that practice reflects best practice, remains evidence-based, and is current and responsive to meet changing patient and NHS service needs.
- Health and Safety: Work in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act, maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant medicines, and act in accordance with the appropriate NMC standards and Trust policy.
- Record Keeping and Administration: Maintain standards of record keeping and associated administration in accordance with AWP Trust Policy and local joint arrangements and professional guidelines.
- Professional Nursing Advice: Contribute to providing professional nursing advice within the post-holder's area of responsibility and span of knowledge.
Requirements:
- Registered Nurse with current NMC registration
- Experience of working in mental health nursing
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
