Role Overview
We are seeking a qualified Control and Instrumentation Engineer (preferably chartered) with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Control and Instrumentation Engineering Team.
- Supervise and assign tasks to engineers and designers.
- Develop scopes of work and estimates to support project proposals.
- Ensure delivery of engineering design scope within budget and timelines.
- Coordinate and collaborate with other engineering disciplines, clients, and package vendors.
- Act as the design authority for all Control and Instrumentation aspects.
- Prepare, review, and approve design calculations, specifications, data sheets, reports, scopes of work, and drawings in accordance with British and International Standards.
- Monitor compliance with applicable codes, accepted engineering practices, and client standards.
- Provide specialized design input for 3D models.
- Conduct technical analysis of proposals from equipment manufacturers and contractors.
- Interpret vendor and other discipline drawings and information.
- Participate in safety reviews, risk assessments, planning reviews, model evaluations, and constructability assessments.
- Identify and document scope changes.
- Adhere to the Company Quality Management Systems.
- Perform other professional duties as required.
- Experience in Heavy Engineering, Chemical, Petrochemical, or Oil & Gas Industries is preferred.
- At least 10 years of experience in Control and Instrumentation, ideally within high-hazard process industries.
- Relevant Technical Engineering Degree and preferably a Chartered Engineer status.
- Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
- Capability to allocate tasks appropriately to design staff and monitor progress to meet project requirements.
- Experience in both design office and operational plant settings.
- Comfortable engaging directly with clients and vendors at all business levels.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite and familiar with AutoCAD.
- Knowledge of ATEX regulations and equipment for electrically hazardous areas.
- Familiarity with Functional Safety, ideally holding a relevant qualification.
- Standard working hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.
