We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCo) and Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) to join our team at Kedleston Group Limited. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the development, operation, support, and management of our Special Educational Needs (SEN) provision.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the development and implementation of our SEN provision, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and promoting inclusive practices across the school.
- Hold lead responsibility for safeguarding and child protection, ensuring the well-being and safety of our students.
- Work closely with teachers, support staff, and parents to provide a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students with SEN.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with external agencies, such as local authorities and health services, to ensure seamless support for students with SEN.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of our SEN provision, making recommendations for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and have experience of working with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).
- Have a sound knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and its application, as well as a understanding of the principles behind school improvement, including school improvement planning, monitoring, and reviewing progress.
- Be able to work with pupils and their families in a sensitive and positive way, demonstrating a commitment to inclusive practices and student-centered learning.
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders, including teachers, support staff, parents, and external agencies.
- Be able to analyze data and present information clearly and effectively to both educationalists and non-educationalists.
