Bioresources play a vital role in our comprehensive Water Recycling strategy, focusing on the treatment of wastewater across multiple Sludge Treatment Facilities. By utilizing advanced anaerobic digestion techniques, we can produce valuable resources, including renewable energy in the form of Biogas, which can be transformed into electricity, as well as high-quality biosolids cake for agricultural use as a soil enhancer. With the anticipated rise in sludge generation due to population growth and stricter environmental regulations, the Bioresources team is tasked with the safe and sustainable management of sewage sludge.
Key Responsibilities:
The Senior Bioresources Operations Specialist will report directly to the Bioresources Treatment Manager and is instrumental in ensuring the effective functioning of water recycling and bioresource operations. This role encompasses identifying and executing enhancements while assisting the manager with the daily oversight of facilities. Responsibilities include resource management, contractor coordination, adherence to health and safety regulations, and providing support to the team of Bioresources Technicians.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven experience in a dynamic operational setting, particularly in mechanical, electrical, or process improvement roles is essential.
- A resilient mindset to prioritize site needs and manage competing activities while considering health & safety implications and broader business objectives.
- Strong understanding of health and safety protocols.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Flexibility in work approach, including management standby duties.
- Commitment to continuous improvement.
- Valid UK driving license.
