Job Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the active management of payable amounts (inwards balances) on designated accounts spanning all portfolios managed by our client. This will involve collaborating with the Reinsurance Team to ensure an overall position is obtained when considering Inwards business settlements to third parties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate and reconcile unallocated cash for all portfolios managed by our client, using own initiative to obtain documentation to support cash balances and reviewing system to understand cash allocation
  • Contact brokers or cedants for further assistance when required, with the aim of achieving cash reconciliation or recommending bad debt write-off where appropriate
  • Ensure that all debts are considered to be a potential risk (bad debt) to the company and follow the escalation procedure to record an appropriate provision within the accounts

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Previous ledger reconciliation experience, demonstrating the ability to prioritize and break down complex tasks into component parts
  • Prior experience within the Insurance or Financial Services sector, although not essential, would be beneficial in easing the learning curve with our complex reinsurance business
