KS1 Teaching Assistant Job Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic KS1 Teaching Assistant to join our team at a primary school in East London. As a KS1 Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning and development of our KS1 pupils.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the class teacher in planning, delivering, and assessing learning activities for KS1 pupils.
  • Work with small groups or individual pupils to provide extra support or challenge in literacy, numeracy, and other subjects.
  • Help create a positive and stimulating learning environment that meets the needs and interests of the pupils.
  • Monitor and record the progress and attainment of the pupils and provide feedback to the teacher.
  • Promote positive behavior and values among the pupils and deal with any issues that arise.
  • Provide pastoral care and guidance to the pupils and support their social and emotional development.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and other staff members.
  • Follow the school's policies and procedures on safeguarding, health and safety, equality, and diversity.
Requirements
  • A minimum of NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification in supporting teaching and learning.
  • Experience of working with KS1 pupils in a primary school setting.
  • Knowledge of the KS1 curriculum and assessment frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A positive and proactive attitude.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
