Project Overview:

Provide technical support services and troubleshooting for deployed systems.

Key Responsibilities:

This pivotal role involves direct support for naval operations, specifically assisting vessels deployed worldwide. As an MRC Systems Support Engineer, you will be an integral part of the service management team, responsible for the remote oversight of the infrastructure in military environments. This position is high-profile and rewarding, requiring close collaboration with deployed technical staff.

  • Security Clearance is required or must be obtained.

The support team is responsible for the following areas:

  • 24/7 Technical Support
  • Desktop and Application Support
  • Server Infrastructure Management
  • Network Infrastructure Management
  • Escalation Point for Advanced Support
  • Network Operations and Security Operations Functions
  • Integrated Logistics Support and Lifecycle Management
  • Safety Engineering Practices
  • ICT Build Support Services
  • Repair and Maintenance Services
  • Comprehensive Service Management Functions

MRC Systems Support Engineers play a crucial role in the support team, essential for maintenance services and closely integrated with overall logistics support operations.

The primary responsibility is to address requests for replacement hardware initiated by technical staff through the material demand process.

This includes:

  • Managing the local inventory system to ensure adequate stock levels for operational needs.
  • Preparing equipment prior to its distribution.
  • Diagnosing and repairing returned hardware for reuse.
  • Conducting operational tests on equipment.
  • Ensuring software and firmware are updated to the required versions.
  • Verifying compliance with the latest standards.
  • Updating documentation for testing and staging processes.
  • Creating documentation for new hardware items.
  • Coordinating with logistics upon equipment delivery.
  • Informing management of hardware requiring disposal.

Required Qualifications:

  • Self-motivated and determined
  • Ability to perform under pressure in a high-visibility environment
  • Flexible work hours to meet urgent demands
  • Capability to work independently and as part of a small team
  • Effective communication skills with internal and external stakeholders

  • Strong attention to detail
  • In-depth knowledge of Desktop Infrastructure, including:
  • Windows and Unix Server Management
  • Microsoft Exchange and Messaging Support
  • NetApp Storage Management
  • Security Software Management

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with CISCO device configuration
  • Experience in Supply Chain Support
  • Previous military experience (not mandatory)
  • Infrastructure support experience
  • System Administration experience in distributed environments
