A welcoming and inclusive Special Needs School in Witney is seeking a graduate to assist their students with complex Autism and learning challenges as a Support Assistant.

The students at this institution range from ages 3 to 16 and will thrive with a nurturing, empathetic, and engaging graduate who is dedicated to supporting vulnerable children.

The school adopts a therapeutic methodology, allowing students to participate in various activities beyond conventional lessons. Previous experience working with individuals with Special Needs is advantageous for this position.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing emotional and mental health support to all students.
  • Assisting pupils in achieving their academic goals while enhancing their interpersonal and life skills.
  • Managing challenging behaviors and developing effective behavior strategies.
  • Enhancing communication through speech and language support, visual aids, and Makaton.

Collaboration with Teachers, Support Staff, and multi-disciplinary therapy teams is essential.

This role presents an excellent opportunity for any Psychology or Criminology graduate to work alongside therapists and psychologists within the school environment.

In addition, you will gain invaluable experience in the fields of special needs, neurodiversity, and mental health challenges.
