We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join our team at a primary school in West Norwood. As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will provide one-on-one support to a non-verbal Reception student, helping to facilitate their learning and development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and support strategies tailored to the student's specific needs.
  • Use a range of communication methods, including visual aids and assistive technology, to support the student's learning and communication.
  • Collaborate with the classroom teacher, SENCO, and other professionals to ensure the student receives comprehensive support.
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment where the student can thrive.
Requirements
  • Previous experience working as a SEND Teaching Assistant is essential.
  • Proven experience supporting nonverbal children or children with similar needs.
  • Strong understanding of SEND best practices and strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patient, empathetic, and a genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs.
  • A valid DBS check or willingness to apply for one.
