Job Summary

Amazon is seeking a skilled Hardware Validation Specialist to join our global electrical engineering team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest product quality standards and driving continuous improvement for our products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Thermal Compliance Verification: Perform thermal compliance verification of systems and components to ensure they meet our product requirements.
  • Collaboration and Planning: Collaborate with design and production teams to develop detailed thermal validation plans and ensure seamless execution.
  • Data Analysis and Insights: Analyze and interpret thermal/power data from validation tests to offer actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Fixture Design and Development: Design and develop fixtures for thermal validation, thermal data collection, and power measurement.
  • Troubleshooting and Documentation: Work cross-functionally to troubleshoot thermal issues identified during validation and document thermal validation and troubleshooting processes.
  • Thermal Performance Verification: Verify thermal performance for second source qualification, cost-down design, and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Testing Automation: Develop and contribute to testing automation to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Equipment Calibration and Maintenance: Calibrate, manage, and maintain thermal testing equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience: 5+ years of thermal experience in design and validation of systems.
  • Skills: Experience with SoC and system thermal measurement, thermal and power data analysis, thermal control hardware development, CAD design, and thermal validation equipment.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of natural convection, forced convection, and thermodynamics, as well as SoC power and thermal characteristics.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience: Experience with the design and development of high-volume consumer IoT products.
  • Expertise: Expertise in thermal design and validation for battery-powered devices.
  • Background: Strong background in mechanical design and its integration with thermal management.
  • Tools: Proficiency in thermal simulation tools such as FloTherm, FloTherm XT, and FloEFD.
  • Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in a global, cross-functional team environment.
