Quality Assurance Lead

If this resonates with you, we invite you to consider joining our Optronics & Missile Electronics (OME) team in Glasgow. The OME team is tasked with developing cutting-edge optronics and missile electronic solutions for some of the most advanced defence and security platforms across land, sea, and air.

What the role entails:
  • Engaging with customers and collaborating across various business sectors
  • Facing exciting challenges as the advocate for customer needs
  • Hybrid working model (3 days on-site each week)
  • Support for your CQI membership and formal certified training opportunities, such as lead auditor training
Your daily responsibilities will include:

Reporting to the Quality Manager, your role will involve:
  • Planning and executing project audits and surveillance activities in line with Project Quality Plans and audit strategies
  • Representing the customer within project or bid teams to enhance customer satisfaction and address any concerns
  • Managing and analyzing reports to drive continuous quality improvement within projects, ensuring quality performance aligns with project timelines
  • Promoting best practices and fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement
About you:

Ideally, you will possess:
  • Demonstrated experience as a Quality Engineer or Quality Assurance Manager (or a similar role), preferably in an engineering or manufacturing context
  • In-depth knowledge of current quality practices and standards, ideally ISO9001 / AS9100
  • Understanding of the engineering/project lifecycle - desirable
  • Experience working within a project framework and managing work packages - desirable
  • Qualification as an auditor or equivalent experience
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and influencing skills to build relationships and promote quality with key stakeholders
  • Membership of, or progress towards membership of the Chartered Quality Institute - desirable

Security Clearance: This role will require SC Clearance. While it is advantageous to currently hold this clearance, it is mandatory for the successful candidate to undergo, achieve, and maintain SC Clearance. For eligibility, you generally need to have resided in the UK for the last 5 years. In certain cases, a minimum of 3 years' residence in the UK within the last 5 years may be accepted, along with additional overseas checks.
