We are seeking a dedicated, empathetic, and proactive individual to fill the role of Support Worker for Housing Initiatives on a temporary basis. This position will be situated within a collaborative project aimed at assisting individuals facing homelessness. The initiative is designed to provide immediate access to permanent housing, followed by comprehensive support to address the underlying issues contributing to homelessness.
Key Responsibilities:
Facilitate positive lifestyle choices and help clients achieve optimal outcomes. Enhance access to health and social care services. Oversee the daily operations of the service, managing a caseload of clients with the objective of guiding them to health and social care services, ensuring they maintain appointments, and minimizing reliance on emergency services. Deliver personalized support tailored to individual needs and aspirations, allowing clients to have a say in how and when they receive assistance.This role presents an exciting opportunity to engage in a pioneering and collaborative approach to support with our partners. To excel in this position, you must be capable of working autonomously and be comfortable with independent working when necessary. A solid understanding of relevant protocols and safety measures is essential. You should maintain a strong commitment to working with individuals with complex needs, providing the high level of support they require to achieve their goals.
The ideal candidate(s) will possess:
A Level 3 qualification or equivalent in a relevant field, or a willingness to pursue such a qualification. Experience working with vulnerable populations in a related program area. Familiarity with the benefits system and an understanding of funding streams and reporting requirements for supported housing. A valid Driving Licence.Appointment is subject to satisfactory references and a PVG scheme disclosure check. All new employees must register with SSSC within 3 months of appointment and provide proof of the right to work in the UK.
