Position Overview

We are thrilled to announce an opportunity for a Clinical Support Coordinator to become a vital part of our dedicated and innovative team at High Green Medical Practice.

Key Responsibilities

The Clinical Support Coordinator will assist in the efficient operation of the clinic by managing routine administrative and clinical duties, allowing our General Practitioners to concentrate on patient care.

Core Duties Include:

  • Scheduling appointments, tests, and follow-up visits for patients.
  • Facilitating referrals on behalf of the General Practitioners, both internally and externally.
  • Conducting basic clinical observations and tests as instructed, including blood pressure monitoring, ECGs, and phlebotomy.
  • Assisting the General Practitioners with immunizations and wound management.
  • Coordinating with external agencies to streamline patient admissions.
  • Organizing clinical correspondence and prioritizing tasks for the General Practitioners.
  • Extracting and coding relevant information from clinical documentation into patient records.
  • Supporting Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF) assessments.
  • Promoting healthy lifestyle choices to patients.

Candidate Profile

Essential Qualifications:

  • Strong educational background, ideally with GCSEs (A* - C) or equivalent.
  • Experience in a patient-facing role.
  • Proficiency in IT systems.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational abilities and a pragmatic approach.
  • Tactful and diplomatic in interactions.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize workload effectively.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Certification as a GP Assistant or working towards it.
  • NVQ in Health and Social Care.
  • Phlebotomy certification.
  • Familiarity with SystmOne.
  • Experience in health and social care settings.
  • Background in phlebotomy or healthcare assistant roles.
  • Awareness of blood-borne viruses.
