Job Title: Sourcing Specialist Intern

This role is part of our Sourcing and Procurement team, responsible for implementing sourcing plans and tactics to effectively manage sourcing activities related to assigned project portfolios. You will provide sourcing and procurement support, ensuring parts are sourced in a cost-effective and timely manner from suitable vendors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement sourcing plans and tactics to effectively manage sourcing activities related to assigned project portfolios
  • Provide sourcing and procurement support, ensuring parts are sourced in a cost-effective and timely manner from suitable vendors
  • Work with assigned project teams to meet critical project timelines, prioritizing work and communicating progress in cadence reviews/through tracking mechanisms
  • Define part and assembly parameters for systematic Purchase Order release
  • Assess supplier capabilities and make recommendations for new supplier onboarding
  • Understand strategies for assigned commodities and proactively drive initiatives to meet departmental objectives


Deliverables:

  • Conduct RFI/Q/P (Request for Information/Quotation/Proposal) and bidding processes, minimizing risk, and maximizing value in terms of quality, delivery, and cost
  • Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers to meet specified quality, delivery, and cost objectives
  • Ensure accurate system definition in SAP of part parameters for systematic Purchase Order release
  • Select a high-performance supply base for assigned portfolio, in accordance with short-list of approved suppliers
  • Evaluate current and prospective suppliers through supplier reviews, site visits, and audits, in coordination with Supplier Quality teams, to assure supply capabilities, on-time delivery, quality, and service
  • Lead supplier onboarding process for newly identified suppliers
  • Execute contract negotiation and development in coordination with Sourcing Manager and contract Specialists - typically CDA (Confidential Disclosure Agreements & T&Cs implementation
  • Drive parts and process qualification, in coordination with Supplier Quality teams
  • Effectively communicate with/maintain the highest degree of relationship between the Company and all levels of supplier personnel
  • Build strong relationships with internal customers
  • Identify opportunities and implement actions for continual improvement and process excellence


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Procurement/Sourcing/Manufacturing/Operations/Business Economics or a related discipline
  • Process and quality improvement driven
  • Experience with data management and control principles
  • Proficient in MS Office apps, SAP (favourable) or other ERP system
  • Negotiation and decision-making skills
