About the Role:
We are seeking a motivated and engaging Account Assistant to join our vibrant team at Hart Shoreditch Hotel London, Curio Collection by Hilton. Our establishment is renowned for its unique charm and commitment to exceptional service.
Your Responsibilities:
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly accounting functions to ensure accurate management of all Accounts Payable, Income Audit, and Cashiering tasks.
- Conduct audits of daily revenue summaries for Rooms, Food, and Beverage, along with their supporting documentation as part of the Night Audit Process.
- Account for all incidental revenues generated within the hotel.
- Ensure proper recording of all Meeting Rooms revenue for the day.
- Prepare reports on cashiers' shortages or overages based on the General Cashier's Report for appropriate follow-up.
- Review paid-outs and allowance vouchers for reasonableness and proper documentation.
- Verify rebates and allowances for approval by the Controller and General Manager.
- Conduct spot checks on room rates and prices charged to guests.
- Verify documentation for complimentary rooms and rate variance reports.
- Cross-check room maid reports against room clerks' reports to identify discrepancies and prepare variance reports.
- Manage all open/dummy folios on a daily basis.
- Review house use and entertainment checks to ensure proper authorization.
- Monitor guest ledger balances daily and investigate any unusual transactions.
- Examine late charges and discrepancies, forwarding details to the Credit Manager for further action.
- Conduct surprise cash counts of cashier floats and other cash handling procedures.
- Maintain organized records of all audit documentation.
- Assist management with any additional reports and analyses as required.
- Support the Financial Controller in preparing materials for review meetings.
- Collect and organize delivery notes for miscellaneous items.
- Ensure proper issuance and receipt of goods in the correct units of measure.
- Report any price discrepancies to the Purchasing department.
- Manage the receipt and closure of purchase orders in the system.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Assist the Controller in preparing worksheets and reports for review meetings.
- Contribute to the preparation of Balance Sheet reconciliations.
- Support the month-end reporting process and documentation.
