Job Description:

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to join our client's team in the Leeds area. As a Senior Buyer, you will be responsible for building strong relationships across all departments of the business, conducting research into new and existing suppliers, and collaborating with the supply chain team to strategically plan and sustain optimal stock levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Category Management: Develop and implement category strategies to drive business growth and improve profitability.
  • Supplier Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products.
  • Supply Chain Optimization: Collaborate with the supply chain team to optimize stock levels, reduce costs, and improve efficiency.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop and manage annual budgets for sales, margins, and margin percentages for assigned categories.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Generate custom reports to track progress toward budget and provide insights for business improvement.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in retail, FMCG, or wholesale buying, with a focus on ambient categories.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and numerical skills, with a keen eye for detail. Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with others.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
