Exciting Opportunity - *FULL AND PART TIME ROLES AVAILABLE*
Are you passionate about making a positive impact in someone's life?
Would you like to join a compassionate and nurturing organization that prioritizes its workforce?
Are you enthusiastic and eager to maximize your daily experiences?
If your answer is affirmative, we might have a remarkable opportunity for you
Compensation: £13.00 per hour, with an additional £80 for overnight shifts.
We offer a variety of employee benefits, including an Employee Assistance Programme, a Company Discount Scheme, a monthly recognition initiative based on values, and a company engagement program, alongside an employer who genuinely cares and boasts one of the lowest employee turnover rates in the care industry.
The Role
We are thrilled to present an opportunity to assist a young individual transitioning into his new residence.
This is a fresh role, and we are in search of a dedicated team to provide the consistent support necessary for this individual to integrate into the community and develop meaningful connections, progressing towards a fulfilling and joyful future. He requires round-the-clock assistance in his own living space, which may include overnight shifts.
About the Individual
Our client is an engaging young man, and this role offers a fantastic chance to help him cultivate essential life skills and truly enhance his quality of life.
He is a sociable individual with a diagnosis of Learning Disability and PWS (Prader-Willi Syndrome), capable of verbal communication.
Family is very important to him, and he enjoys activities such as football, gaming, recycling, gardening, and walking.
While he is generally amiable and enjoys various activities, he may face challenges related to his condition, particularly concerning food, which can affect his overall mental well-being.
Behavioral Considerations
During times of distress, he may exhibit:
- Verbal outbursts, including swearing and crying
- Physical aggression towards others
- Paranoia and argumentative behavior
- Threats of self-harm or harm to others
- Destructive actions towards his environment
- Negative self-talk and expressions of hopelessness
- Impulsive actions in search of food
- Food-related theft or concealment
Our objective is to provide him with a stable team that will engage him and encourage active participation in the community. He possesses the potential to undertake tasks and possibly secure a small job, so it is essential for the support team to be motivating and encouraging. With the right support, he can realize his full potential.
Consistency is key, which means we need a team that can assist during crises when his behavior may be challenging. Understanding triggers and anticipating future challenges is crucial, as he is an intelligent young man who often tries to stay ahead of others. Therefore, the team must be aware of various situations and equipped to handle difficulties.
The more motivated and knowledgeable the team is about his needs, the fewer challenges will arise.
Requirements
For this position, a background in care and support for individuals with learning disabilities, particularly those who may exhibit challenging behaviors, is essential. Familiarity with PWS is beneficial but not mandatory, as we will provide training tailored to this role.
Comprehensive training and orientation will be offered, along with a clear transition plan for the individual.
