Assistant Head Chef

As a key member of the Stadia team, the Assistant Head Chef will play a vital role in delivering exceptional culinary experiences for our customers. Reporting to the Head Chef, you will be responsible for supporting the kitchen team in achieving the highest standards of food production, while meeting customer expectations, health and safety requirements, and financial targets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Head Chef in daily kitchen management and operations, ensuring seamless execution of menu items and maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
  • Collaborate with the team to deliver high-quality meals and fast food within budget, while continuously improving menu offerings and culinary techniques.
  • Contribute to stock ordering, deliveries, and menu planning, ensuring optimal inventory levels and minimizing waste.
  • Ensure timely food preparation and adherence to cleaning rotas, maintaining a high level of productivity and efficiency.
  • Manage stock control and minimize wastage, implementing effective inventory management systems.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and contribute new ideas to enhance the culinary experience, driving innovation and excellence in the kitchen.
  • Deputize for the Head Chef as needed, taking on additional responsibilities and demonstrating leadership skills.
  • Ensure kitchen equipment is safe and used correctly, reporting any issues to the Bar & Catering Manager.
  • Maintain safety in the kitchen and report concerns to the Bar & Catering Manager or Safety & Compliance Officer, upholding the highest standards of food safety and hygiene.
  • Implement food hygiene regulations, adhering to all relevant laws and guidelines.
  • Be a qualified fire warden and/or first aider, ensuring the team's safety and well-being.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Qualifications in food hygiene and catering, such as BTEC HND in professional cookery or equivalent.
  • A-level or similar vocational standard.
  • Previous experience in a similar role, demonstrating a strong understanding of kitchen operations and management.
