About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Healthy Lifestyle Advisor to join our team at ABL Health Ltd. As a key member of our community health services, you will play a vital role in promoting healthy lifestyles and delivering motivational change to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver Informative and Engaging Programs: Develop and deliver one-to-one and group weight management programs, including healthy eating, behavior change, and exercise delivery to adults in the community.
  • Provide Personalized Support: Offer safe and personalized advice on healthy eating, behavior change, and physical activity to children, young people, and families.
  • Support Client-Centered Approach: Deliver support using skills of positive psychology and motivational interviewing, with a non-judgmental approach.
  • Health Promotion Activities: Participate in health promotion activities at various localities as required.

Requirements
  • Qualifications: Educated to degree level or relevant equivalent experience.
  • CIMSPA Qualification: CIMSPA (previously REPS) qualified Level 2 Gym instructor/Group exercise award or equivalent.
  • Desirable Qualifications: Sports Coaching qualification, degree in nutrition, or eligible to be registered as an associate or full member of the UK Voluntary Register of Nutritionists.
Skills and Knowledge
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Excellent written, verbal, and non-verbal communication skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly with people.
  • Administration and Record Keeping: Excellent administration, record keeping, and data collection skills.
  • IT Literacy: IT literate, efficient using Microsoft Office (MS Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Stress Management: Ability to manage stressful situations and cope in a fast-paced work environment.
Experience
  • Experience Working with Hard-to-Reach Groups: Experience working with hard-to-reach groups and tackling health inequalities.
  • Previous Experience: Previous paid or voluntary experience working with people.
Job Specific Requirements
  • Travel and Flexibility: Ability to travel independently across the organizational footprint and work flexibly to suit service needs.
  • DBS Check: Willingness to undertake an Enhanced DBS check.
