Job Title: 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team at a mixed primary school in the Aldershot area. The successful candidate will provide 1:1 personalised support for children with Education Health Care Plans (EHCPs), ensuring they receive the focused attention and guidance required for their academic success.

About the School

The school is an Ofsted-rated Good primary school catering to students aged 4 to 11. It boasts a supportive Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and is well-regarded for its commitment to student welfare and academic excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualised support to the child
  • Offer guidance to foster development in all areas and work on the goals outlined in their EHCP
  • Communicate feedback to the teacher and assist with any assessments
  • Assist with the child's personal care needs
  • Help the child follow the daily schedule of activities and support regular activity breaks
Requirements
  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role within an educational setting is desirable
  • A passion for education and supporting students with additional needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Exhibit calmness, patience, and a willingness to learn
  • Have experience working with children with special needs
  • Maintain high expectations
  • Display strong communication skills
Qualifications
  • Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics
  • Relevant qualifications in Teaching Assistance or Education are advantageous but not essential
  • Possess a relevant NVQ Level 3 qualification
