Job Title: Offshore Cable Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Offshore Cable Engineer to join our team at WSP. As an Offshore Cable Engineer, you will play a critical role in the successful delivery of multi-discipline offshore cable projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide technical leadership for the successful delivery of offshore cable projects.
  2. Design and engineer submarine cable systems, including route selection, cable type, cable specifications, and installation methods.
  3. Conduct feasibility studies, performing cable load calculations, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  4. Collaborate with project teams and stakeholders to develop optimal cable designs that meet project requirements.
  5. Select appropriate cable types, determining routing and cable burial requirements and risk assessments, calculating cable ratings.
  6. Design development of array cables, optimizing array and export cables.
Requirements:
  1. A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent technical discipline, preferably Electrical or Power Engineering.
  2. Prior experience in offshore cable engineering, marine renewable energy, or oil and gas industry is highly desirable.
  3. Desirable - HVDC projects both onshore and offshore; including HV cable system design and ratings (CYMCAP).
  4. Strong knowledge of submarine cable systems, including cable design, installation methods, and industry standards.
  5. Familiarity with offshore design development works, marine construction projects, and subsea infrastructure design.
  6. The ability to travel as projects dictate.
