Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Geologist to join our team at Offshore Wind Consultants Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing geological ground models, conducting site characterization, and supporting offshore projects.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in offshore site investigations, cable routing, and geotechnical characterization, with proficiency in geological software tools.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Participating in engineering and consultancy assignments for offshore wind farm and oil & gas projects.
  • Conducting desk studies and feasibility assessments for project sites.
  • Scoping and supervising site investigations for offshore projects.
  • Engaging in cable risk analysis, including routing, burial assessments, and tool selection/performance evaluation.
  • Assisting in delivering solutions to clients within the required timeframe, budget, and quality standards.

The position will be based in the United Kingdom, with a combination of home and office working for a contracted 40 hours per week.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong expertise in offshore site investigations, cable routing, and geotechnical characterization.
  • Proficiency in geological software tools.
  • Ability to collaborate in a multi-disciplinary team, including engineers, contract managers, and QHSE personnel.
  • Fluent in English.

Desirable qualifications include an MSc or equivalent degree in civil engineering or a related field, experience in designing and supervising offshore site investigations, and involvement in offshore renewables projects.
