Position Overview

Integral Staff is seeking a dedicated and skilled Lead Mechanical Technician to oversee the upkeep of our fleet and specialized equipment.

Key Responsibilities

This pivotal role involves both hands-on mechanical work and administrative duties, including the supervision of a team member. You will be responsible for the maintenance of over 1,500 pieces of equipment and a fleet of more than 70 vehicles, which encompasses tractors, vans, trailers, ride-on mowers, hand tools, and waste containers.

Occasional travel may be required to various operational sites to ensure all equipment remains in optimal condition.

Maintenance Management

You will be tasked with developing proactive maintenance schedules for all machinery and coordinating necessary external inspections or servicing.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A full UK driving license.
  • Experience in agricultural or specialized mechanical fields is preferred.
  • Strong mechanical skills to ensure our fleet and equipment are mobile, efficient, and compliant.
  • Proficiency in computer systems to effectively manage assets.

Additional Responsibilities

As part of your role, you will:

  • Manage and collaborate with a Workshop Fitter and the operations team to maintain and repair our machinery and vehicles.
  • Ensure timely maintenance and repairs to minimize downtime and maintain legal compliance.
  • Complete all necessary documentation to adhere to current regulations and company policies.
  • Work with contract managers to assess equipment for purchase, disposal, or sale on an annual basis.
  • Conduct regular preventative maintenance, including inspections and routine servicing, with a focus on health and safety.
  • Demonstrate management experience in a similar environment.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office applications effectively.
  • Possess knowledge of vehicle and agricultural equipment.
  • Interpret task and data sheets relevant to the machinery.
  • Previous experience as an Agricultural Mechanical Technician or Agricultural Plant Machinery Engineer is advantageous.
