Position Overview:
This role is designed to ensure the optimal performance of our fleet and horticultural machinery.


As a pivotal member of our team, you will engage in hands-on maintenance while also overseeing a small team. Your responsibilities will include managing over 1,500 pieces of equipment and 70 vehicles, such as tractors, vans, trailers, and various tools.


Occasionally, you will need to travel to different locations to ensure our equipment remains in top condition.


Your role will also involve developing proactive maintenance schedules and coordinating necessary external inspections or services.


This diverse position requires a candidate with strong mechanical skills to maintain our fleet and equipment in a fully operational and compliant state. Proficiency in computer systems is essential for effective asset management.


Requirements:
- A valid UK driving license is mandatory.
- Experience in agricultural or specialized mechanics is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and collaborate with a Workshop Fitter and the operations team to maintain and repair vehicles and equipment.
- Organize and execute maintenance and repairs promptly to reduce downtime and ensure compliance with legal standards.
- Complete all necessary documentation to adhere to current regulations and company policies.
- Work with contract managers to assess the procurement, disposal, or sale of equipment on an annual basis.
- Conduct regular preventative maintenance, including inspections and routine servicing, while prioritizing health and safety.

Qualifications:
- Proven management experience in a similar environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Comprehensive knowledge of vehicle and agricultural equipment maintenance.
- Ability to interpret task and data sheets relevant to machinery.
- Previous experience as an Agricultural Mechanical Technician or Plant Machinery Engineer is advantageous.
