The Vale of Glamorgan Council is a local government authority that provides a range of services to its residents and businesses. Our Shared Regulatory Services team is responsible for delivering a fully integrated service for trading standards, environmental health, and licensing functions.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Regional Communicable Disease and Health and Safety Team as a Commercial Services Technical Officer. As a key member of our team, you will assist in the enforcement of Environmental Health legislation within the remit of Commercial Services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out a wide range of reactive work, including enforcement activities and investigations.
  • Develop and implement proactive project-based interventions to improve compliance and reduce risks.
  • Work closely with colleagues and stakeholders to achieve our goals and objectives.
  • Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with a range of audiences.

  • Relevant qualifications and experience in a related field.
  • Excellent communication and team working skills.
  • Ability to solve problems and think critically.
  • Personal credibility and an approach that builds rapport and confidence with customers.
