Job Role: Apprentice Structural Engineer

We are seeking an ambitious and self-motivated individual to join our team as an Apprentice Structural Engineer. As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in structural engineering, working on a variety of projects from small domestic extensions to large multistorey apartment and office developments.

Responsibilities:
  • Complete an apprenticeship program of learning, predominantly in the workplace, with external training courses to complement learning.
  • Develop knowledge of varying building techniques and materials used.
  • With support, interpret Engineers' design briefs and undertake design analysis and compiling reports in compliance with British Standards and Eurocodes.
  • Utilize knowledge and initiative to identify solutions, providing feedback and contributing ideas within the team.
  • With direction and supervision, conduct site inspections and gather relevant data to compile comprehensive reports.
  • Maintain records and work folders, ensuring all work is checked appropriately.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with both internal and external clients, building and maintaining positive relations.
  • Attend internal design review meetings in accordance with company protocols.
  • Work within agreed deadlines, maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
  • Grow and develop knowledge, experience, and initiative.
  • Take responsibility for own development and CPD.
Requirements:
  • Keen interest in the construction industry, buildings, or water/drains systems.
  • Competent with computers/able to learn new software.
  • Problem solver, able to offer solutions to challenges.
  • Able to work and collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Confident, articulate, collaborative, and proactive.
  • Eagerness to learn and develop skills and career with training support.
  • Good time management and organizational skills to efficiently manage workload.
  • Excellent spoken and written English.
  • Eligibility to live and work in the UK and be able to demonstrate proof when requested.
