Job Title: Financial Controller

Join our team as a Financial Controller at The Coniston Hotel Country Estate & Spa, a leading destination hotel near Skipton on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to support the strategic financial direction of the company, lead all operational finance-related activities, and be involved in important relationships with the company's bank, auditors, and external agencies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Directors in the development and implementation of financial strategies and plans.
  • Lead the finance team in the preparation of financial reports, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Oversee the management of cash flow, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and laws.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including the bank, auditors, and external agencies.
Requirements
  • Experience at senior finance level within hospitality with proven understanding of industry best practice.
  • Understanding of hotel-specific practices, including allocations, price inclusions, accruals, and best value practices.
  • Demonstrable experience in financial analysis, including reporting for banks and overseeing audits.
  • Strong experience in cash management and financial planning.
  • A degree-level qualification and an accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
