About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Controls and Instrumentation Project Engineer to join our client's Project Engineering team. This role focuses on providing Capital Project support to manufacturing sites. The primary objective of the team is to deliver capital expenditure projects efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Project Leadership: Lead the technical and site implementation of projects, ensuring successful commissioning on time and within budget.
  2. Project Management: Manage projects by analysing and converting customer asset data into actionable insights to enhance equipment reliability and performance.
  3. Installation and Commissioning: Plan and oversee installation and commissioning work while coordinating communication with customer site teams and product businesses.
  4. Project Scheduling and Budgeting: Develop and maintain detailed project schedules and budgets, managing critical control points through collaboration across all functions.
  5. Capital Expenditure Management: Utilise specialist C&I knowledge to ensure capex projects meet technical specifications.
  6. Cost Estimation and Management: Create cost estimates and project schedules, managing expenditures efficiently.
  7. Resource Coordination: Coordinate and manage external resources to support project delivery.
  8. Project Closure: Oversee the project lifecycle, including capital approval, maintaining accurate financial data, and ensuring proper project closure.
  9. Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance: Manage construction and commissioning activities, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
Requirements:
  1. Process Control Systems Knowledge: Strong knowledge of process control systems (hardware & software).
  2. S7/PCS7 Control Software Familiarity: Familiarity with S7/PCS7 control software and its interrelations.
  3. Project Management Skills: Proven project management skills, including scope, cost, budget, and timeline management.
  4. Health and Safety Management: Experience in health and safety management, including contractor coordination.
  5. Industrial Sensors and Instrumentation Knowledge: Extensive experience with industrial sensors, instrumentation, and control systems.
  6. Industrial Processes and Automation Understanding: Understanding of industrial processes and associated automation, including IT/OT system convergence.
Educational Qualifications:
  1. Degree in Controls & Instrumentation or Electrical Engineering: Degree in Controls & Instrumentation, Electrical Engineering, or a similar engineering discipline, with relevant experience in commissioning monitoring and control systems.
  2. Project Management Certification: Prince 2/APM (or equivalent) project management certification.
  3. Health and Safety Certification: NEBOSH Certificate.
  4. Language Proficiency: Proficiency in English (read, write, speak).
