Job Title: Mechanical Project Engineer

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Mechanical Project Engineer to join our team at WGM Engineering Ltd. As a key member of our project delivery team, you will be responsible for leading the engagement with suppliers and our in-house construction team, as well as liaising with our in-house design team to provide technical solutions in real-time.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Conduct detailed site surveys, employing technical expertise for precise measurements, photos, and discussions with operations to understand processes and assess access and egress.
  • Identify process control procedures for asset/site, utilizing strong interpersonal and communication skills to build a collaborative working relationship with client operators.
  • Resolve complex technical and logistical issues during project implementation, conducting design reviews, constructability reviews, and on-site checks to ensure the highest standards.
  • Engage suppliers and subcontractors for project services, ensuring design/scope requirements are sufficiently detailed.
  • Conduct thorough technical assessments of supplier quotations, ensuring alignment with project requirements.
  • Lead internal and external stakeholder meetings, demonstrating technical proficiency and ensuring effective communication.
  • Support the Project Manager in developing construction methodology and programme throughout the project lifecycle, inclusive of pre-construction.
  • Develop and review Risk Assessment and Method Statements (RAMS), demonstrating attention to technical intricacies.
  • Regularly report project progress, highlighting technical milestones and outcomes during meetings with the wider Project Delivery Team.

To be considered for this position, you will have at least 2 to 3 years of previous experience within an Industrial Engineering role. You should demonstrate knowledge of mechanical systems in an industrial environment, with experience of the Water Industry being preferable. A full UK driving license is required due to the nature of the role, as you will be required to travel to various sites across the country.
