About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Host to join our team at Seven Dials Market. As a Host, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service, ensuring a seamless guest experience, and supporting the management team in maintaining the operational standards of our venue.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide outstanding customer service, responding to guest inquiries, and resolving any issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Take direction from senior team members, work independently, and maintain a calm and composed approach in a fast-paced environment.
  • Deliver table service, provide recommendations, and ensure a great hospitality experience during day-to-day operations and events.
  • Communicate effectively with other departments, including trader teams, to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Administer reservations, manage seating, and assist customers with various requests, queries, and complaints.
  • Adhere to reservation policies, ensuring the customer journey aligns with KERB's pillars, particularly 'Exceptional Hospitality'.
  • Support the Floor Manager in maintaining a smooth customer flow in and out of the venue.
  • Develop an excellent understanding of our food and beverage offerings, making suggestions and recommendations to guests based on their preferences.
  • Uphold great communication with all departments to maximize table turnover and customer satisfaction.

Requirements and Skills

Essential

  • 1 year of experience in bartending, although this is not a deal-breaker.
  • Great knowledge of beers, wines, and spirits, with cocktail experience being a bonus.
  • Awareness of the licensing objectives.
  • Excellent people skills, confident in interacting with guests and traders.
  • An eye for spotting upselling opportunities.
  • A positive and flexible attitude, with the ability to think laterally and problem-solve.
  • Experience using tablet-based till systems, such as GoodTill.
  • A love of food.
  • Outstanding hustle.

Desired but Not Essential

  • Previous experience in bar, pub, or venue operations.
  • Personal license holder.
  • Experience with events and activations is preferred.
  • Experience using Sevenrooms booking platform is preferred.
