Key Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive evaluations of patients' wounds, including precise measurements, staging, and identification of underlying factors.
  • Craft personalized treatment plans that cater to the distinct needs and objectives of patients, employing evidence-based methodologies and the latest advancements in wound care.
  • Administer direct wound care procedures, which encompass dressing changes, wound irrigation, debridement, and the application of topical treatments.
  • Work in partnership with interdisciplinary teams to guarantee thorough and coordinated patient care, involving consultations with surgeons, physical therapists, nutritionists, and other healthcare experts.
  • Provide education to patients and their families on effective wound care practices, preventive measures, and recognizing signs of complications.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments of patients' healing progress, modifying treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal recovery and achieve desired health outcomes.
  • Remain informed about the latest research and developments in wound care, engaging in professional growth opportunities and sharing insights with colleagues.

Qualifications

  • Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the relevant state.
  • Master's degree in Nursing with a focus on Wound Ostomy Continence Nursing (WOCN) or a related field.
  • Preferred certification as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Wound Care (CNS-WC).
