Carpmaels & Ransford, a leading European intellectual property law firm, is seeking a talented individual to join our team as a Trainee Patent Attorney - Engineering and Tech.

About the Role

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual with a strong background in engineering and technology to join our Engineering and Tech practice group. As a Trainee Patent Attorney, you will have the opportunity to work with a team of experts in a wide range of fields, including surgical devices, lasers, contact lenses, energy technologies, drones, and drug delivery systems.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and prosecution of patent applications
  • Conduct research and analysis on complex technical matters
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective patent strategies
  • Provide excellent client service and communication

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a strong first degree (minimum master's degree level and 2:1 degree class or equivalent) or a three-year bachelor's degree plus further study (including PhDs) in one of the following areas:

  • Electronics
  • Electrical engineering
  • General engineering (with a substantial electrical or electronics focus)
  • Computer science
  • Software engineering
  • Artificial intelligence
  • Physics (with an electrical or electronics leaning or special interest)
