Job Overview:

We are in search of a committed and empathetic Deputy Manager to become a vital part of a new initiative within a Children's Residential Care facility.

The Deputy Manager will collaborate closely with the Registered Manager to effectively oversee the operational budget, guide the development of both staff and the children in residence, and regularly update placement plans, risk assessments, and positive behavior strategies.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Exhibit strong leadership to motivate and guide the staff team in delivering individualized care aimed at achieving optimal outcomes for each child.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of and ensure compliance with all pertinent legislation governing Children's Homes.
  • Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of the Children's Homes Regulations 2015, The Quality Care Standards, and the SCCIF, ensuring timely implementation of any recommendations following inspections.
  • Guarantee adherence to safeguarding policies and local authority procedures to provide a sensitive and responsive residential service that caters to the diverse needs of each child.

Compensation: Salary is set at £36,270, with potential for an increase following the successful completion of a probationary period.

Working Hours: The role requires a commitment of 46.5 hours per week, structured as follows: three days of standard office hours (09:00-17:00) and one 24-hour shift (08:00-23:00) including a sleep-in duty and a handover period the following day. This totals 201.5 hours monthly. Additionally, the Deputy Manager will participate in an emergency on-call rota, typically one week per month.

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Possession of a Level 4 diploma in Children's and Young People Workforce or an equivalent qualification.
  • Working towards or having completed a Level 5 diploma in Children's and Young People Workforce.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities with a minimum of two years in a supervisory role.
  • A valid and clean UK driving license.
